SHINEDOWN To Film 'Second Chance' Video
November 27, 2008Atlantic Records recording group SHINEDOWN has landed its ninth consecutive Top 5 hit at rock radio with "Second Chance", now at #4. The band's run of hit singles from its first three albums makes it one of the most successful rock bands of the decade. SHINEDOWN launched "Second Chance" with a blistering performance on "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" on September 5. The song will be serviced to Top 40 radio at the beginning of 2009.
For SHINEDOWN lead singer Brent Smith, "Second Chance" is the most autobiographical track on the album. Smith wrote the lyrics about leaving his native Knoxville, Tenn., to pursue a career in rock 'n' roll.
"This song for me is the most personal song on the record because it's about how I grew up and my childhood," commented Brent. "It's about throwing caution to the wind and going after what you truly want in life."
The Jacksonville, Florida-based rock outfit will film a video for "Second Chance" next month in Florida. The new clip will debut in early 2009.
SHINEDOWN's latest album, "The Sound Of Madness", was produced by multiple Grammy Award winner Rob Cavallo (KID ROCK, GREEN DAY, MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE). The album has remained on the Billboard Top 200 album chart for 16 consecutive weeks and has shifted 228,000 copies in the United States to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.
